The Safer Ohio School Tip Line is a free safety resource available to all Ohio schools. The tip line is an anonymous reporting system that accepts tips via call, text, webform and mobile app 24 hours-a-day.

This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety.

Make a Report Online

Things to report to the tip line include (but are not limited to):

  • Bullying incidents;
  • Withdrawn student behaviors;
  • Verbal or written threats observed toward students, faculty or schools;
  • Hazing;
  • Weapon/suspicious devices on or near school grounds;
  • Gang-related activities;
  • Unusual/suspicious behavior of students or staff;
  • Self-harm or suicidal sentiments; and
  • Any other school safety-related concerns.

988 Lifeline Center

988 Lifeline Center calls are free, confidential, and available 24/7/365. 988 provides a direct link to empathetic, anonymous, and easily accessible care and support for individuals facing emotional distress, such as thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or concern for a friend or family member.

When you call:

  • First, you’ll hear a message telling you that you’ve reached the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline while your call is routed to your local 988 Lifeline network crisis center.
  • You will hear a little music while we connect you to a skilled, trained crisis worker.
  • A skilled, trained crisis worker who works at the 988 Lifeline network crisis center closest to you will answer the phone.
  • This person will listen to you, understand how your problem is affecting you, provide support, and get you the help you need

When you text:

  • When someone texts 988 on their mobile device, they will complete a short survey letting the crisis specialist know a little about their current situation.
  • They will be then connected with a trained crisis specialist, who will interact with them to understand what they are experiencing, provide support, and connect them with any needed help or resources.

When you contact the Lifeline chat via 988Lifeline.org/chat:

  • First you'll complete a short survey letting the crisis specialist know a little about their current situation, and then see a wait-time message while they are connected to a crisis specialist.
  • A trained crisis specialist will answer the chat, converse with the individual to understand how their problem is affecting them, provide support, and share resources that may be helpful.
