GLHS Senior Earns Music Honor

Congratulations to senior clarinetist Asa Mattson who performed with the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) All-State band at the Columbus Convention Center on February 2, 2024.
This past summer, 90 of the top band students from across the state were chosen from hundreds of recorded auditions to be in this most competitive honor band in the state of Ohio.
The all-state band rehearsed with their conductor, T. Andre Feagin from Central Washington University, on Wednesday through Friday and then presented a concert on Friday evening for a packed crowd at the Union Station Ballroom in the Columbus Convention Center.
The concert included works by John Philip Sousa, Dwayne Milburn, Julie Giroux, and John Mackey. Each student was awarded an all-state medal and will receive an audio and video recording of the performance.
